Gekkeiju Online is the biggest fantasy-themed 3D online rpg made in Finland. The game is not MMORPG as the player count is not so massive. Gekkeiju Online brings together the best features from all well known MMORPGs and combines them with a MUD-base. Because of the MUD-base, Gekkeiju Online is often called a 3D MUD.

Gekkeiju Online is an indie project. Indie projects in general usually bring lots of new stuff to the scene as they're not always forced to earn the publisher the biggest possible profit. Basically this means that not all indie games get popular for trying uncommon features. Sometimes, however, these new features manage to completely change the standards of the scene.

Gekkeiju Online is always developing unlike most online games. In most games once the finished version is out, there'll be nothing new to it other than some addition packs that are sold seperatedly. In Gekkeiju Online, new maps, monsters, quests etc get added all the time in almost constant flow. This means that if a player stays away from the game for a few months and then returns, there may already be lots of new stuff in the game.

The feature list of Gekkeiju Online easily beats all currently available MMORPGs. While graphically not top of the class, Gekkeiju Online strives to bring the players lots of game features, for free(!). This keeps the game interesting and very addicting to most people.

The administration of Gekkeiju Online are very active, unique people and almost always available for chatting. The development is also open for suggestions although there is quite detailed view how the game should be so some suggestions are ignored.

Active adminsitration and community also means that the game has no cheaters. Cheaters and bug abusers are always taken care of immediately unlike in some Asian online games.
